What is Raspberry Pi, Arduino and BeagleBoard

Since I was at the Maker Faire a few weeks ago, I’ve heard the terms Arduino and Raspberry Pi before.  But just for the record, according to their web sites here are the descriptions. Raspberry Pi is a tiny and affordable computer that you can use to learn programming through fun, practical projects.  Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. And BeagleBoard is an open hardware, community-supported embedded computer for developers and hobbyists.  Thank you Maker Faire.

If you’d like to get your daughter (on son) interested in these STEAM ideas, you can find books, parts, pieces and inspiration at Maker Shed which is the online store for Makezine and Maker Faire.
