Where is the happiest place in the Bay Area this weekend? San Jose at the Silicon Valley Comic Con. How to describe the SVCC? Imagine the Woz inviting 60,000 of his coolest friends to come to downtown San Jose for a 3 day party celebrating science, sci-fi, tech, nerdiness so far off the charts as to be immeasurable, and just plain fun?
Add to it the special guests such as the cast members of Star Trek and Star Trek: The Next Generation, Grant Gustin (CW’s The Flash), Tom Felton (Harry Potter’s Draco Malfoy and Julian Dorn / Doctor Alchemy on CW’s “The Flash” ), Adam West and Burt Ward (1960’s Batman and Robin), Gina Torres (Firefly and Serenity) Billy Boyd, (Pippin from Lord of the Rings) and Apollo 11 Astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Oh, and members of the Sesame Street cast will be stopping by too. This is just a (very) short list of what’s happening in Downtown San Jose this weekend.

Comics 4 Kids &Teens: What’s Good and What’s New!
I am highlighting this panel for Sunday at 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm for parents, just because comic books have changed so much. The panel will include local librarians talking about the newest and greatest titles and classic titles. I remember the first time I read Moby Dick was a Classics Illustrated comic book. Heads up the annual Free Comic Book Day is May 6, 2017.
