Taste Of Orleans Festival Returns To Great America

What is the Taste Of Orleans

The Taste of Orleans is a two weekend, four day festival celebrating Cajun music and cuisine.  For those of you with a craving for Cajun food, there will be Tasting Cards for $25 each to get a serving of crawfish etouffée, chicken and andouille sausage gumbo over rice, hushpuppy shrimp skewers with Cajun dipping sauce, crispy frog legs with creole aioli, blackened catfish sliders with tangy slaw and a choice of classic beignets or praline bread pudding.  If you don’t want it all you can purchase selections a la carte for $6.99 each.

Our favorites were the blackened catfish sliders, chicken and andouille sausage gumbo over rice and hands down the praline bread pudding.

There will also be Tasting Cards available for local wines and beers for adults.

What is There to do at Taste Of Orleans

The Taste of Orleans Festival is set up midway style near the Rue le Dodge (bumper cars).  Besides the Cajun cuisine for purchase, spend some time playing games at the adult sized tables, listening to the Zydeco bands.  Kids, 12 and under can stop in and make their own masks (free!) and also Alice 97.5 has a prize wheel will other goodies.

Keep your eyes open as catch the murals drawn by several chalk artists.  If you come on a Saturday, plan to stay for the fireworks at 9:45 pm.

Taste of Orleans is included free with admission to the CA Great America.  2017 Season Passes are currently on sale for just $69 and features a season of fun in both Great America and Boomerang Bay Water Park. A $105 Gold Pass includes Halloween Haunt, WinterFest, free Great America parking, Gilroy Gardens and more.
