California Great America Halloween Haunt 2008

Updated 10/3/8 Note: California Great America has added discount pricing for regular season pass holders ($19.99 for the first two weekends and $24.99 for the remainder of the Haunt).  I have updated Scenario #3 to reflect the discounted price.

If you are planning to visit the Halloween Haunt at Great America (or have teens who might), these tips should be helpful in determining how to spend the least amount of money to enjoy your visit.

What is Halloween Haunt and how much does it cost? Halloween Haunt is a nightly attraction at Great America.  The Haunt is scheduled for 7 pm – midnight each Friday, Saturday and Sunday from October 3rd – November 1st.  Tickets are $39.99 at the door, $34.99 pre-sale online, $19.99-$24.99 for regular season pass holders. Parking is $10.

Scenario #1:You have no season pass and will only be going to Halloween Haunt once. Buy your ticket online. Combined, the cost of the ticket and parking are $44.99.

Scenario #2:You have no season pass and will only be going to Halloween Haunt more than once. Buy a Gold pass for 2008. Passes are $95.  This will give you free parking and free admission to Halloween Haunt. Combined the cost for two tickets online and parking are $80. With the Gold pass you get free admission to Halloween Haunt, parking, 20% discount at several places in the park and free admission to Great America itself.

Scenario #3:You have regular season pass and you are going once. Go during the first two weekends Oct 3,4,5 or Oct 10,11 and 12th. Your discounted price will be $19.99.  After 10/12 the discounted price will be $24.99.

Scenario #3a:You have regular season pass and you are going more than once. Upgrade to a Gold pass for 2008. The upgrade price will be the difference between the cost of your 2008 season pass and the cost of a gold pass (which is $95). If you are going more than once then you will pay at least $39.98 for two admissions. Upgrading to a Gold pass will give you free admission to Halloween Haunt for the season. Parking is free for season pass holders.

Scenario #4:You have a Gold or Plantinum season pass. Enjoy!  Your admission is free. Parking is free for season pass holders.
